6 Ways To Ease Your Bitches Called Anxiety And Existential Void

Are you sick of the boredom of the everyday? Yet, when you head home from university or school you can’t stop worrying about the same things you gotta do all over again tomorrow, or all the things you need to do the day after that? Or does your office work overlap with your personal time? Are you a do-it-all freak? Then you know you have a long way to control yourself, it is hard to stop thinking and shut down your system to refresh when you have microtasks that govern your self-time and a lot of pretending, or judging or competing to go through otherwise, but, you are not alone.

We are afraid of saying foolish things, of saying something offensive of thinking what may be wrong, of being who we are, of finding who we are because, what if who we are is not socially acceptable. We hide the scars that our family gives us, we cover the ones on hearts with the thickest concealers on our eye bags, we erase all that we remember about being abused, hurt, misguided, held back or broken, because, whatever our hearts and minds may go through our outsides, social media and work lives must remain spick and span.

All of the pressure and all of the pain along with the weight of the social expectations gets in the way of your sanity and brings you a cartload of anxiety that plugs into your life support system, making you breathe more anxiety than pollution and that is exactly why you need to go through with this mental detox.

1. Literature, Urdu-Literature.

Ease your cultural identity crises with the best of Urdu literature that deals with everything like heartbreak, problematic relationship with family, disputes with God, blurry goals and the being lost.

From Ghalib’s emotionally challenged relationship with love, religion, and society to Manto’s very true and accurate world view, to Iqbal and his painfully pinching sadness as well as life prescription we have got everything.

2. Define your abilities and Produce something:

You need a badass specialty in life, a passion, a muse, a love interest, a hobby, a cause, anything. And discover the flow, find yourself, find what can you change about the world, your world, your life. You can tweak things to what you like, and how you like it, and this is exactly why you need to adjust and regulate your environment and your goals.

3. Music swap:

You are what you listen to. You can absolutely cringe over rap and yet fall in love with a certain kind of rap one day. If you listen to dark music a lot, you don’t even know what you have done to your brain until it’s a little too ahead of you, sometimes you need to detox your playlist and stop listening to the loop that reminds you of your weird memories. Atleast you make peace with the past.

Try to go tho carefree days, remember any goofy tracks from your childhood? Find them. Listen to a track from carefree days every now and then. And if you don’t remember any of those days or any music from good times, honey then it is time to make your memories now, start now and stop complaining.

Do you like the lyrics? Listen to some lounge music, or chill deep house, do you like hard and fast beats, switch to some fresh and flowy tunes by Mahmut Orhan or Gokhan Alan. And if you like nada, then Cardi B is your godmother. Let her save your soul honey bun.

4. Work it out:

No, this is not a patriarchal ploy to make people shape and tape themselves to appeal to the male gaze, this is about you. Stay at home, have no sickening food for a day, work out that night. Give yourself some cardio, start at 5 minutes and then go on to however much time you have. But, the 5 minutes will give you the sleep you need to improve your day ahead, and honestly, don’t give a fuck about who listens and don’t bother too much about doing it right, just start somewhere and sweat your anxiety out. Get some clarity, get some focus. It is really that simple. If you don’t, you either don’t want to fix yourself or you are too lazy to do so.

5. Make your chores easy:

Your clothes need to be very simple, functional, decluttered and to the point. If you wast 20 minutes every morning worrying about what matches what or what is good for the weather what is not, or if your clothes are see-through or revealing, or tight, or uncomfortable in any way, then you are IN A RUT. Snap out of it, it will take you 20 minutes once off, and get rid of the clothes you don’t need. Minimal style is the best style for the mind.

Clean your nightstand, list down things you want to do when you shower and then do them, once a week, once in ever, skip your joint or hook up or movie or whatever to get your life in order. Choose you for a day and have your entire week, entire month easy.

6. Put a book near you for God’s sake.

Doesn’t matter if you skimp through pages, read a book that has 3 lines on the page, or just pictures. You need a lift me up, grab a new book every month, place it next to you, get comfy in pajamas and read it in the lamplight. You have earned it. Once you start and get into the vibe, you are going to multiply the number of books and divide the time take to read into smaller chunks and that is when start getting somewhere. If you already read a lot, its time to switch up and detox yourself, just like the music swap part.

Live pinch-free. You have every right to!
